1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Homecounts ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

3. Eligibility; Households; Minors
You must be at least13 years oldto use this Service.
A “Household” may only be created and managed by a responsible adult (the “Household Admin”). The Household Admin may invite other members to join their Household, including minors aged 13–17.
- Authority and consent:The Household Admin represents and warrants that they have the authority to invite each member and, where required by applicable law, that they have obtained any necessary parental/guardian consent for invited minors.
- Responsibility:The Household Admin is responsible for the Household’s use of the Service, including managing roles/permissions and ensuring all Household activity complies with these Terms.
- Under 18:If you are under 18, you may use the Service only as a member of a Household and under the supervision of the Household Admin and/or your parent or legal guardian.
- Child accounts and external contacts:Accounts for minors must be set up aschild accounts. Child accounts do not have access to features involving contacts or people outside the Household (for example, inviting people outside the Household, or accessing/managing external contacts). The Household Admin is responsible for ensuring minors are registered as child accounts.
4. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
Account type: Where the Service supports adult and child accounts, you agree to provide accurate information so that the correct account type can be applied. We may restrict or disable certain features for child accounts to protect minors.
5. Free and Paid Services
Homecounts offers both free and paid subscription plans:
- Free Plan: Basic features are available at no cost and may be ad-supported
- Paid Plans: Subscription plans add priority receipt analysis, bundled analysis credits, more household members, remove ads, and may include a free trial period
- Trials: Trial periods (if offered) are ad-free
- Billing periods: We may offer monthly and annual plans
6. Billing and Payments
For paid subscriptions:
- Billing is processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor (including Stripe Checkout and/or the billing portal)
- You agree to provide valid payment information
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis (as selected by you)
- Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date
- Cancel during trial: If you cancel during a free trial (if offered), you will not be charged
- Cancel after charge: If you cancel after you have been charged, your subscription remains active until the end of the then-current billing period and will not renew
- All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as stated in these Terms. Unless required by applicable law, we do not provide prorated refunds for partially used billing periods
- You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your subscription
- We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice; where permitted, the new price will apply at the next renewal and you may cancel before renewal if you do not agree
EU/UK consumers (digital services): If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, you may have statutory rights, including a right of withdrawal in certain cases. Where you request immediate access to paid features, you acknowledge that once performance has begun you may lose your right of withdrawal to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
7. Service Availability; Quality; Disclaimer of Warranties
We work hard to provide a reliable, secure, and high-quality Service and we aim to maintain high availability. However, the Service may occasionally be unavailable, interrupted, delayed, or contain errors (for example due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control).
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied (including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement), and we do not make any warranties or guarantees that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- Any defects will be corrected immediately or at all
- The Service or its results will meet your requirements or expectations
- The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components
This section does not affect any mandatory statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
8. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not upload content that violates any laws or third-party rights
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Not interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Adults-only uploads: Only responsible adults (18+) may upload receipt files/attachments. Minors (ages 13–17) may participate in a Household and use features permitted by the Household Admin but may not upload receipt files/attachments
- External contacts restricted: Only responsible adults may access or use features involving contacts or people outside the Household (for example, inviting people outside the Household, or managing external contacts). Child accounts do not have access to such features
- Health/medical attachments are prohibited: Do not upload attachments containing health or medical information (including medical bills, prescriptions, or documents revealing health status). If you want to track health-related spending, you may enter it manually without attaching a document
- Remove or redact personal or sensitive information from receipts before uploading if you do not want such information stored
- Accept responsibility for all content you upload
Important: We do not post-process uploaded files to remove personal details. It is your responsibility to redact sensitive information before uploading if you do not want it stored in our systems.
9. Receipt and Data Handling
When you upload receipts:
- Receipt files and financial data are stored securely in Europe
- Receipt files are shared only as needed with our receipt analysis sub-processor for the purpose of extracting data
- Receipt analysis is performed using Taggun. We use Taggun’s “incognito” mode for our API calls (an opt-out storage option described in Taggun’s privacy policy) to reduce third-party retention. See: Taggun Privacy Policy
- We store receipt files to enable you to view and download them, but you can always choose to delete from the platform.
- Some processing may be performed by sub-processors located outside the European Economic Area (EEA) under appropriate GDPR safeguards
10. Receipt Analysis Contribution Rewards
You may optionally opt-in to contribute receipt data to help improve our receipt analysis accuracy:
- Contribution is completely optional and opt-in
- When you opt-in, you may earn analysis credits as a reward
- If you contribute, we may use the receipt file, raw extracted data from analysis, and details you have validated to improve our product
- If a contribution is clearly wrong, invalid, or abusive, we reserve the right to withhold credits
- You can opt-out of contribution at any time
Adults-only:Only responsible adults may upload receipts and participate in receipt analysis contributions. Minors may not upload receipt files/attachments.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service uses third-party services:
- Stripe:For payment processing and billing
- Adsterra: For advertising on the free plan (ads may be personalized)
- Taggun:For receipt analysis and data extraction (we use “incognito” mode for our API calls; see their privacy policy)
- OVHcloud:For hosting and infrastructure in European datacenters
- OAuth Providers (optional):Such as Google, if you choose “Sign in with Google”
- Optional Integrations:We may offer optional integrations with third-party services
Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
Child accounts:Certain third-party integrations and features involving contacts outside the Household may be unavailable to child accounts.
12. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned byTeandy SRLand are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
User Content:You retain ownership of content you upload (including receipt images/PDFs and associated data) (“User Content”). You grant Teandy SRL a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display your User Content solely to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service and to comply with legal obligations. If you opt in to receipt analysis contributions, you additionally grant us the right to use the opted-in contribution data to improve our extraction models and product features as described in the Privacy Notice.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TEANDY, ITS AFFILIATES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.
14. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription (if applicable) and contacting us to delete your account.
15. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Consumer rights:If you are a consumer, you may benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits those mandatory rights.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium, except where mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.
